		<description>Like I said - there is no fix for the broken behaviour. I can use a different function in my scenario - but if you did read the whole post (which you either didn&#039;t, or you just repeated my stated solution again to sound clever) - you would see that using a different function because the behaviour of a function is the opposite of what you would expect, is still not a solution for the broken behaviour in the first place.

Sure there is. In your case, you are looking for http://php.net/array_key_exists.
